We Ubered in San Fransisco

We flew into San Francisco separately yesterday morning because Mike’s company bought his ticket and mine was cheaper for us through Alaska. After working through the maze of the SF airport to find each other, we made it to the hotel. We decided not to rent a car, maybe a mistake. The hotel is south of the city a good ways.

While deciding how to take public transport to SF, Mike downloaded the Uber app and got us a ride. The man was nice and gave us some tips on visiting SF. Plus, it was cheaper than a cab. I’d say Uber was a success for us. I’m not sure how comfortable I’d be riding in some guy’s car alone with him but it’s fine with Mike.

He dropped us off at the Golden Gate Bridge. And we walked the length of the bridge. The views were beautiful and it was cool to be on the bridge. The weather was beautiful too and warmer than we anticipated. The taxi driver who took us to our next destination said the bridge was 1.6 miles long each way. There were a lot of people on it and the walk was fairly slow-going. The Remember-the-1915-Armenian-Massacre group was doing a walk on the bridge too.

We went to Anchor Brewing, which was closed so we found another brewery within walking distance-Southern Pacific. We had to walk up a pretty steep hill and cross a highway over a funky, blue footbridge. The brewery was packed and the beret was OK. We really enjoyed it.

Caught Uber back to the hotel and walked to Trader Joe’s for snacks. The rest of the evening was fairly mellow.

Today, we worked a bit this morning and then caught Uber into SF. We are going to Alcatraz today and are super excited about it. We got to Peer 33 too early, so we walked (longer than we thought) to Starbucks for breakfast. On the way, we saw a running road race, bunches of recreational runners, people enjoying the sun, and a guy on a skateboard with a sign that said YOU ARE PERFECT. It’s been a great start to the day.
