More San Francisco Fun

More San Francisco Fun

We really enjoyed San Francisco.  Alcatraz was cool and the weather was perfect for it.  It’s hard to imagine people living in those little cells.  After Alcatraz, we walked to Pier 39, which was a huge tourist trap.  It was cool in that there were colors and stores and people everywhere but it was just a bit too crazy for us.  After some debate and false starts, we decided to walk to a brewery away from Pier 39 for lunch called Rogue Brewery.  Little did we know it was the same Rogue as in Portland.  The brewery wad in the North Beach neighborhood, which seemed more local and less touristy.  We liked it.  There was art for sale in a park across from the brewery.

After lunch, we walked up more hills to Coit Tower in Telegraph Hill.  We didn’t see any of the wild parrots but we took the stairs, which are well-known because there are many.  The mosaics in the tower were beautiful.  They were painted in 1933 and depicted various industries.  I noted the lawyer industry was all men and beside it was the shopping industry, which showed all women.  We caught an Uber back to the hotel, and I left the next morning.  Mike stayed until Tuesday to film Viewpoint’s customers.  It was a great and relaxing weekend.
