Trailfest Day 2

Last night at the Snow Canyon State Park was magical.  The sky was so large.  We walked to the restroom in the dark by the light of the moon and stars.  No need to attend the star viewing event tonight, which is part of the TrailFest.  Sleep is a better option for us because our first night in the camper van didn’t yield great sleep results.  The bed is cozy a.k.a. small.

We drove around the State Park this morning and then headed to Kanab.  It was a pretty and uneventful drive.  We got to Kanab too early so we hung out at the park and watched the Vacation Races team set up for the event.  We were the first to register for our camping spot, and we got our choice of places to park. We didn’t intentionally take the spot by a picnic table that is shaded by a tree, but it’s a definite perk.

This afternoon has been Lazy Days.  We rested in the van – twice – and are now hanging out by the charging tables, charging our devices.  The venue is ready for everyone and there’s music playing from the stage.  The Race Director occasionally picks up the mic and gives us information or describes the vendors present.

We’re excited about the race swag.  The hoodie is super cute, and we got a technical T-shirt and some other cool things as well.  So far, Vacation Races has delivered.  This is awesome!
