Moving into Willow Creek

Moving into Willow Creek

We moved into our first house on September 5 – 1 month ago. It was an awful week before closing: we had to switch lenders, fight to get homeowners insurance and fight the closing company. We closed on Friday (instead of Thursday as we were supposed to). Since then, it’s been great.

Mike and I moved into the house in 1 ½ days – Drew helped on Saturday with the heavy stuff. Busy and exhausting weekend. We slowly unpacked, still have some boxes. David and Susie came to see the house. That was fun. They gave us a Home Depot gift card and book as housewarming gifts. We bought two shovels, a pick, a ladder, gloves and insulation, insulation, insulation. We’re approximately half done insulating the attic space – not so much fun. We wear glasses, gloves and masks. It’s hot, sweaty and uncomfortable. We feel great! Still working on it. There are five bales of insulation left in the garage.

We also bought three Raywood Ash trees to provide some privacy between us and our neighbors. Of course, we first tried to dig up a 20’ tree. It didn’t work, but at least we tried. The ash trees look great.

This weekend, Kris and Connie came up. Kris stripped and cleaned our deck. It looks beautiful! Kris will help us stain it in a couple weeks. I can’t wait! We have so many plans for this place!!

We’ve also bought Mike’s WRX. We love it! Unfortunately, it got hit on Friday. Mike’s getting it fixed this week. We also went climbing at Smith Rock with some people from Planar – Fredrick, Joe, Scott and Scott’s gal. It was a lot of fun!

Most of our weekends consist of housework and a little football. We’re doing just a little landscaping too. We love the space! We love the privacy! We love our house and car!
